When the Heart is Whispering

As our theme this month is the heart, let’s explore the main dysfunctions I encounter in my practice when women’s heart chakra is out of order.

As I always say, healthy eating, healthy lifestyle, managing stress and proper nutrition & supplementations all play a major role in healing, but they are far from being the main piece of the puzzle… Over and over again, I come back to the same advice: LISTEN!
We need to learn how to feed our hearts and souls as we are learning to feed our bodies. Listening to your body whispers is a skill we all need to cultivate…

Warning: Again, as I always warn, if your ‘whispers’ reach a stage where they are manifested physically, you need to physically tend to the body with the proper nutrition, supplements and/or medical intervention from a qualified MD if needed along with tending to your heart and soul needs.

P.S. If you did not take the heart chakra Assessment… Here are your 20 questions.

Hypertension... What is Your Body Trying to Tell You?

It is estimated that nearly one quarter of Canadians suffer from hypertension, a leading risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. But, it is interesting to know that most cases of hypertension are classified as primary or essential hypertension, which means that the exact reason for blood pressure rise is not known.

Although conventional medicine attribute the cause of hypertension to dietary choices, sedentary lifestyle and stress, traditional medicines have always added a deeper mystical understanding. In traditional medicine, blood is our lifeline. The smooth flow of blood in our blood vessels represent a smooth, harmonious, and joyful life flow. When the flow of life is constricted/restricted, so would be the blood inside its vessels.

According to ancient Indian medicine, at least one of the first four main chakras are associated with hypertension problems: the root chakra, the sacral chakra, the solar plexus, and the heart chakra.

  • The first chakra is your root, your foundation. It holds your primary sense of belonging – belonging to a family in its larger sense including the feeling of safety, home, peace, and harmony. The first chakra regulates musculoskeletal health along with the adrenal function, which determines our tolerance/response to stress – the adrenaline secretion that, when activated, prepare the body to fight or flee (raising heart rate, increasing blood pressure and slowing down digestion). Furthermore, chronic stress sustain the release of cortisol, a hormone that raises blood pressure, blood sugar level, causes muscle tension, and suppresses immune function.

  • The second chakra It is the centre of creativity, joy, passion, physical and emotional intimacy, and life flow. It mainly controls sexual organs and to a large extent body fluids, a main player in the blood pressure regulation.  Our kidneys regulate water and electrolyte balances – managing blood pressure.

  • The third chakra is the seat of your emotions. Those deep feelings of love and hate, courage and fear, acceptance and anger,... all are lodged here in your solar plexus, stored in your liver, gall bladder, and stomach. Many -or maybe most- of the malfunctions at this centre arise from repressed, unregulated or uncontrolled emotions and unmanaged life stresses. Poor digestion and nervous stomach are common disorders associated with the third chakra malfunctions. Worry, anxiety, and unmanaged daily life stresses are early signs of “gut feeling” that need to be addressed. And, stress is the main culprit in cardiovascular problems including hypertension.

  • The fourth is the heart chakra, the centre of love with all its meanings - romantic and spiritual, physical and metaphysical. Your heart is the link between your physical realm and your spiritual one, that’s why balancing your heart energy is essential in achieving holistic balance. And, balance means taking care of whole of you: body, mind, heart & soul. The heart chakra regulates heart function and blood circulation in addition to lungs and breathing.

As you can see, more than one chakra is always involved in any health challenge—especially in chronic physical disorders like hypertension. Restoring your health entails managing all aspects of your life (physical, mental , emotional , and spiritual).[1]

Energy Restoration:

If you find it hard to control your blood pressure, it is time to listen closely to your own body… What is your body trying to tell you? What message is it trying to deliver? Which of the four Chakras is/are out of balance?

First Chakra
  • Strengthen your support. Family support is an essential element in your foundation’s health. Think about the house you live in. How could your feel more “at home”?
  • Connect with Nature.
  • Be aware of your movements, especially your daily routine activities. Movement is a powerful energizer of our first chakra.
  • Prepare Food for Your Family.
  • Clear the Clutter. Living in a clean, orderly, and uncluttered environment is a first chakra energizer.
  • Get a Foot Massage.
  • Support your adrenals – Your adrenals need coenzyme Q10, vitamin C, B vitamins, and omega 3 oils.

Second chakra
  • Water has a powerful cleansing effect on all of the energy system. You can restore your second chakra balance through bubble baths or warm showers. You can energize it by standing under the rain, going to the beach or practicing water sports like swimming and water skiing.
  • Live with passion. The second chakra is the centre of creativity and life enjoyment. To energize it, you need to find pleasures, meanings and values in everyday experience. You need to step out of your comfort zone and try new stuff that makes you happy and bring you material, spiritual, mental, and emotional satisfaction.
  • Adopt a New Hobby. Learning a new skill or adopting a new hobby is about adding gratification to your life and also about boosting your creative powers, the two main sides of your second chakra.
  • Engage Your Senses. Let your sensual indulgence flow naturally and spontaneously throughout your daily experiences by cultivating awareness of your five senses (sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch). Although your life should be structured, planned, and organized (functions of the first chakra), it should be far from rigid. Flexibility, harmony, and flow are essential for a healthy second chakra.
  • Simplify and beautify your Surrounding.

Third Chakra
  • The sun is a major third chakra booster. UV rays of sunlight help lowering blood pressure, reducing cholesterol, increasing heart efficiency, boosting metabolism, increasing sex hormones levels, and sustaining the health of the eye retina.
  • Finding your path, your true vocation and life calling is essential for establishing health, vitality and happiness. The journey starts here at your solar plexus by re-evaluating your resources, your strengths, your talents and potentials; by boosting your self-confidence, self-worth and self-esteem; and by committing to your true values and vocations.
  • Love who you are, acknowledge your human limitations and be less critical and judgmental of yourself. Surround yourself with a loving, caring, and compassionate community. Connect with your family and friends and receive and give support. A healthy support system is essential in a stressful world.
  • Breathing Exercises adjust, synchronize, and harmonize the diaphragm movement thus restoring balance not only at the third chakra level but also at whole body levels.

Fourth Chakra
  • Awareness. The first step in restoring heart balance is actually recognizing that we are tumbling out of balance. Awareness is the key in every aspect of your life. Ironically, the more we struggle to stay in control, the less balanced we become.
  • Perform a Random Acts of Kindness. Serving others feed your heart.
  • Keep smiling. Studies in the field of positive psychology show that pessimism is very strongly associated with poor health and heart problems. Research has proven over and over again that the feeling of optimism, having a life meaning, mastery of your conditions and experiences, and having positive attitudes and emotions towards life are major indicators of your susceptibility to heart and cardiovascular diseases. These findings were more indicative of predicted death from heart attacks and cardiovascular problems than more conventionally stated risk factors like high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol, diet and lifestyle habits, obesity, smoking, and personality types.
  • Learn your love language. Love, the essential food for the heart, is a very important asset in relationship building. Dr. Gary Chapman, the author of The Five Love Languages, sees that each person understands and communicates love in his/her own language – be it gifts, acts of service, words of appreciation, physical touch… To restore your heart energy, you need to understand, receive, and deliver the right messages of love.

Now, it is your turn to reflect. Which aspect(s) of those chakra energy is missing from your life?
What do you need to change/ add/ eliminate?
Listen to your body… What does it need in order to heal?
Write your own healing prescription…

________________________________
[1] It is very important to note here that if the malfunction reaches a stage where it is manifested physically, an experienced physician should be consulted. The advice given here can in no way compensate for a proper medical intervention or treatment, when such is required.

Listen to your Body Whispers® before they turn into screams

What is missing in your life? Why are you unhappy, stressed or tired? Which areas of your life need your attention?

I saw women staying years on anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medication trying to cope with their stressful reality, life demands, and loneliness…

I saw women going ballistic every ‘time’ of the month and others suffering form hot flashes and menopausal symptoms just trying to survive because they had no idea what their body was trying to tell them… they did not know what those Body Whispers® meant and how to heal them...

This is why I developed the Body Whispers® system after years of studying, teaching and working with my clients. The purpose of The Body Whispers® System is to help you quickly identify which areas in your life need your attention so that you can experience getting your life back on track.

  • Backache, fatigue and depression start when you have issues with safety, security and belonging.
  • Bones, joints & knee pain are related to feeling out of place, or stuck… feeling that you don't belong here. Traditional systems say that the knees store your fears… and pain in the hip, legs and feet indicates your reluctance to move forward in life.
  • Kidneys & bladder malfunctions are your body’s way of telling you that you’re 'pissed off', you need to let go… let go of fears, worries and frustrations
  • Sex organs & female hormonal imbalance - things like PMS, hot flashes, uterine fibroids, PCOS, and ovarian cysts – are trying to tell you that you are missing joy, excitement & creativity in your life.
  • Colon problems like IBS, Crohn’s, colitis, hemorrhoids, bloating, or chronic constipation are signs that you are holding on to the past, and you are unable or unwilling to let go of what no longer serve you.
  • Liver & gall bladder issues are related to Anger & toxic emotions.
  • Pancreas problems are related to power struggle especially in cases of pancreatic inflammation or cancer. And, if you lack sweetness in life, pancreatic problems could surface in form of lower secretions like diabetes and poor digestive flow.
  • Stomach issues are about losing strength, feeling victim & helpless or unable to ‘digest’ your current situation and reality.
  • Lungs and respiratory issues are related to grief and the need to make room to breathe & take life in again.
  • Heart problems like arrhythmia and palpitation show issues with self-love, care & forgiveness.
  • Blood & circulation problems are telling you that life is not flowing smoothly and that you need more joy, smoothness, and harmony.
  • Breast cancer in women is always related to self-care & self-nurture issues… women who have been giving, giving and giving so much and neglect their own needs for care and love.
  • Throat & thyroid whispers want to tell you that you need to be heard; you need to reclaim your authentic voice. This area is also related to issues with surrender and learning to align our will to the Divine will without compromising or giving up on your dream nor ignoring your authentic voice.
  • Nerves and Nervous system complaints show you that you need to stop and reflect on the lessons, the meanings and the wisdom behind what is happening in your life.
  • Head & brain issues like headaches, migraine, memory problems indicate resistance to life flow, over-thinking, and inflexibility in your approach to life stresses and challenges.

Now, it is your turn to take some time and reflect on each area… Listen to you Body Whispers® before they turn into screams!

Pamela is a client of mine. She was miserable in her marriage. Her relationship with her husband was slowly but steadily disintegrating taking a painful toll on her life. Honoring her life mission and spiritual teachings, she decided to remain in this unhappy relationship for the sake of her children. She knew that living with both their parents was important for their healthy development. This was her choice, a logical, mindful decision that both her instinct and heart agreed upon. She chose a higher spiritual priority that was both wise and sane. But what about her other energetic needs?

Your second energy system, the second chakra, is about life joys and pleasure, about intimate relationships. It is about living with passion, excitement, creativity and meaning.
And, your third center is about strength, about setting your boundaries, not allowing anyone to step on our toes… It is about reclaiming responsibility for our own life and ditching the helplessness mentality.

For Pamela, both energy centers were out of balance… She was suffering!

Pamela denied her need for warmth and compassion, for the love and intimacy expected in a healthy marriage. She also fell into a victimhood mentality and a self-pity mode that weakened her self-esteem and damaged her sense of self-worth.

Gradually, her body ‘whispers’ started. They first appeared as a passion for new hobbies and entertainment. She always wanted to paint and draw, so she started taking drawing and painting classes. Still, she wasn’t fulfilled. She surfed the Internet for hours in an aimless search for pleasure and gratifications. Soon enough, her addiction started… A book addiction. Strange, isn’t it? When we hear the word addiction, our mind immediately shifts towards drugs or alcohol, but addiction has many ugly faces … any desire or passion, any ‘want’ that you fail to voluntarily control could easily turn into an addiction.

Pamela started ordering books online. She waited for the book delivery like a paramour waiting for his lover. As soon as the books arrived, before even reading the first page, she swiftly scanned the bibliography section, returned to the internet and ordered more books… and more… and more… In her mind, she needed something to live for; a reason for her to wake up in the morning and this was her reason- waiting for her books to arrive. Since this is not exactly a solution for her energetic needs, she was drowning in a vicious cycle.

Be it an addiction to drugs, cigarettes or alcohol, or be it to money, power, looks, shopping, food, or even books, these are all equally powerful and harmful. Money, wealth, position, power, food, looks, sex, emotions, even entertainment and leisure can all turn into addictions if attachment to them is strong enough that they become your reason to wake up in the morning and pursue your life.

When she came to see me, Pamela hormonal system was a mess.
She suffered from painful PMS, chronic vaginal candidiasis, and recurrent ovarian cysts… her OB/GYN suggested surgery but she was highly reluctant.

It was time for Pamela to do some changes in her life… It was time to set boundaries and demand some respect and appreciation… By changing her attitude and assuming responsibility for her life, by ditching the victimhood mentality and finding real meaning and passion, Pamela regained her sense of self and with it she regained her health.

Of course, along with emotional and spiritual support, Pamela’s body needed attention. She added cruciferous vegetables, green leaves and mushrooms to everyday diet to balance her hormones and help her liver detoxify excess estrogen. She also followed a low glycemic load diet to balance her blood sugar and control her addiction.
Whether your Whispers come in form of hormonal imbalance like Pamela’s or they surface as random aches and pain, digestive issues, thyroid nodules, autoimmunity or heart disease… they all carry a valuable message… They are here to tell you that something needs to change in your life…

In my work I teach women how to listen to their Body Whispers and decode their meanings, how to rekindle passion and joy in their life and how to turn their kitchen into a healing dispensary…

If what you’ve been doing hasn’t been working.
If your body is still complaining with random aches and pains that no one has answer for.
If you have the urge to do something different.
If you know that you’re meant for so much more and are just feeling a little lost on what that change should be or how to get there... contact me… Let’s schedule your healing journey!

With health & healing,

Amira

Tap into your Heart energy

How many times did you feel the need to press a pause button? The need to just stop and catch your breath? How many times did you catch yourself running and racing, not even knowing what you are racing for or where you are heading? How many times did you feel tumbling in a hectic stressful reality?

We've all been there. An exhausting mode of living that our modern lifestyle imposed on us without our consent. We all need this critical balance. Balance between the demands of our body, our material life and logical mind on one side and between the needs of our heart and soul on the other.

Health stems from the ability to synchronize with the delicate flow of life, with all its ups and downs, joys and sorrows. It is the willingness to open your heart to receive the subtle grace that the world offers every step along your way. It is the ability to acknowledge and laugh at the setbacks and gently and humbly celebrate the joys. We need to TRUST the big plan of life, the Ultimate Wisdom of our Creator... We need to Surrender while believing that everything happens for our ultimate good.

This verse keeps coming back to me again and again: "In order that you do not despair over what has eluded you and not over-exult in pride over what God has given you.” (57: 23). It doesn’t ask you to suppress your joy or avoid pleasures, nor does it expect from you to never experience sadness, frustration, anger or pain. It just lays a universal truth that we are not our possessions, belongings or entourage; we are not our achievements, successes, ranks or prestige… It is good to experience these; it is great to enjoy them. Yet, never let yourself be attached to them... Detachment is the ultimate fruit of surrender…
Life requires us to work and strive. It requires courage to keep going. It requires momentum. Meanwhile, it also requires patience, flexibility and bravery.

Living a heart-centered life helps us slow down and ponder at life lessons, challenges and stresses.  It helps us find the perfect rhythm that sets in coherence our inner-self with our outer reality. Yet, to reach this heart coherence, we need to hush down our brain endless chatter. We need to surrender and trust. We need to believe!

Women top 5 health concerns

Imagine living life free from ailments pain and disease… Imagine waking up every day full of health, energy and vitality… While no one can guarantee full health, we now know enough about the root causes and risk factors to help us prevent a life-long suffering.
Studies show that women top 5 most common health concerns are:
  1. Heart disease
  2. Breast cancer
  3. Osteoporosis
  4. Depression
  5. Autoimmune diseases

I see these 5 concerns again and again in my practice and the rates are alarmingly rising every year.
Healthy eating, healthy lifestyle, managing stress and proper nutrition & supplementations all play a major role in healing, but they are far from being the main piece of the puzzle… Over and over again, I come back to the same advice: LISTEN!

We need to learn how to feed our hearts and souls as we are learning to feed our bodies. Listening to your body whispers is a skill you need to cultivate… You need to weave everyday habits into your life that help you calm down your mind chatter, slow down the rat race and live in the moment.

Picture
When your heart ‘hurts’, it is trying to tell you that it needs more love, care and nurture. It is trying to convey its feeling of being cut off the world wandering on its own, un-supported and un-assisted. It is trying to say that life is becoming overwhelming beyond its coping ability.

Breast cancer sufferers have a tendency of over nurturing others while neglecting or rather denying their own needs for love and care. They usually have a history of repressed love, mothering too much or too little, losing a loved one or being betrayed by a loved one.

Osteoporosis starts as whispers for your soul to search for belonging, for grounding, for support. Your life big purpose and meaning should be addressed along with a lurking need to unleash your creative powers and passions.

When you are depressed, your body is trying to push you to search for a deeper life purpose and meaning… to search for what will excite you and reignite your passion in life. Sometimes it is a long search and a tedious journey, yet it is a journey we must embark on in order to heal, in order to recover from those depressing feelings of lack of belonging, lack of safety and security, lack of meaning in life.

The whispers of autoimmune disease start very subtle that we easily brush them aside and go on with our lives until they abruptly turn into shouts and screams. Our body is literally and figuratively under attack... Attack from its own rebellious immune cells. Self-love, self-care and self-acknowledgement are big issues here as the whispers are trying to tell you that there are massive feelings of rejection, guilt, and abandonment. There are lots of emotions and meanings that should be addressed and explored: feelings of belonging, safety and security; feelings of love, peace and forgiveness; feelings of connection with your own higher beliefs, spirituality and trust.

Again, as I always warn, if your ‘whispers’ reach a stage where they are manifested physically, you need to physically tend to the body with the proper nutrition, supplements and/or medical intervention from a qualified MD if needed along with tending to your heart and soul needs.

Heal Your Heart... Heal Your Life

Picture
This is the story of a client of mine. Let’s call her Mary. This, of course, is not her real name. Mary is a 54-year-old high school teacher living with her husband in a calm and friendly neighbourhood. Mary’s neighbours like her cheerful welcoming spirit as they greet her every morning on their way to work. Yet, Mary’s life is not as easy as it looks from the outside.

One night, the serene neighbourhood was disturbed by the sound of the ambulance at 2:00 am. Mary was rushed to the hospital with sharp pain in her chest. She was admitted immediately to the operating room for coronary bypass surgery.
If we take a closer look at Mary’s life, we will understand the source of her ‘broken’ heart. Mary is a caring loving wife. She spent the last 15 years of her marriage nurturing her husband who suffered from bipolar disorder. Her husband chronic health problems drained her energy and isolated her from any form of social life.

Mary drew a nice smile on her face every morning while her heart was bleeding and her energy was draining.  She loved her husband despites his endless fits. Still, she needed to be loved and nurtured in return. Her heart longed for its missing source of energy. And, as she ignored her Body Whispers for years, they shouted louder and louder until they turned into screams.

Mary’s operation was a wake-up call. Her life was at stake and she needed to do some changes. Many times, we cannot change our environment or circumstances, but we sure can change our perceptions, beliefs and choices and these are what matter the most.

As I helped Mary change her diet, manage her stress and choose a healthy lifestyle. I also helped her heal her heart, which is the crucial factor in her healing journey.
She needed to ditch the victimhood mentality and proceeded to embrace life with all its ups and downs. She also learned to add joys into her everyday existence; she re-engaged with her community and chose to embrace her experience with grace and gratitude not helplessness and despair.

And, as she added little pleasures, excitements and joys into her life, she no longer needed fats and sweets as her emotional comfort. She learned to nurture her heart and soul and properly nourish her body and feed her mind.

With an uplifted spirit and regained stamina, Mary now had more energy to take better care of her husband and give him the love and support he needed. Not, surprisingly, this amazing change in her personality and temper was soon reflected on his behaviour and the bipolar cycling pattern was greatly reduced. When he was in his depressive/down state, Mary had the energy to give him the care and love he needed and when he was in his grandiose/ manic phase, she now had the patience and tolerance to embrace the experience.

Mary’s story is one of tens I meet every day. The story may change, but the underlying pattern is always the same… LISTEN. Deep inside, your heart knows what it really needs. All you have to do is listen!

When we talk about heart energy, love and care, we take it abstractly, we just don’t really feel it. Our modern society taught us that if it is not seen, touched or heard than it does not exist. If science didn’t prove it, then it can’t be true… Well, science has proven it, but yet it cannot explain it.
Dr. Bernie Siegel says:
"Unconditional love is the most powerful known stimulant of the immune system. If I told patients to raise their blood levels of immune globulins or killer T cells, no one would know how. But if I can teach them to love themselves and others fully, the same changes happen automatically. The truth is: love heals"

All traditional cultures emphasized the role of the heart in the human spiritual journey. Now science is starting to acknowledge the heart as more than a mere pump that delivers blood to our organs.
There is no better time in history for us to remind ourselves of the crucial need for us to heal our hearts.

We now know that love, care, peace, and forgiveness can physically heal while anger, grudge and hatred can precipitate bodily illness. We know that fear, stress and worry compromise our immunity and alter our physiology.

This is my invitation to all of us to start restoring love and care in our hearts so that we can restore health to our bodies and peace to our planet.

Restore Your Energy II: Decode the Whispers

22/1/2017

Picture
Body whispers are those subtle messages your body is sending you to tell you that something is not working in your life… something needs to change.
Those hidden messages are commonly referred to as body metaphors as they are somehow descriptive of the nature of the problem you are currently facing. It is much like many common expressions we use in our daily lives: “you broke my heart”, “he stabbed me in the back”, “ My shoulders carry a heavy burden”, “I can’t digest the idea”… All those expressions actually have a deeper meaning. When someone ‘breaks’ your heart, your cardiovascular and immune systems are literally affected. When you are ‘stabbed’ in the back, your spinal cord, immune system, and reproductive functions are at stake. When you cannot ‘digest’ an idea, your digestion, metabolism, and absorption are also compromised...

Emotional Centers & Physical Manifestations:

First Emotional Centre:

Also known as root chakra, your first emotional center or first chakra is your foundation. It is located at the base of the spine, at the area commonly known as the tailbone (the coccyx).
Our first chakra calls for the satisfaction of our basic human needs and holds the main instinct for survival including our safety and security, our need for belonging and our ethically-driven life. The energy of this emotional center understands that our needs as human beings extend from basic food and shelter to strengthening family and social ties and watching our values and ethics.
And, as its name implies, your foundation is the base on which we build the other emotional centers. Without a stable foundation, you cannot progress into higher levels. You cannot ask a hungry or oppressed man to enjoy beautiful scenery or work for peace and love on earth. Fundamental human needs have to be supplied first.
When out of balance, your first emotional center sends you body warnings through its associated glands, the adrenals. You feel anxious, unable to cope with stress, your blood pressure is out of balance, your bones ache, you experience constant fatigue, depression and/or your immune system falls out of synch.

First chakra malfunction is associated with most of the chronic conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, chronic lethargy and pains, chronic fatigue syndrome... It is also associated with kidney and bladder disorders, some rectal symptoms, lower back pain, depression, insomnia, and suicidal tendencies.

Second Emotional Centre:

The second chakra, also called the sacral chakra, is located 2 inches (5 cm) below the naval.
It acquires its energy from life little joys, creativity, and pleasures. It holds the critical balance between enjoyments and addictions. At this level, we learn to control our addictions, keep our inner satisfaction, and balance our worldly needs including our sexuality.

When out of balance, your sacral chakra sends you body warnings through disturbance in sexual hormones and reproductive functions, creativity block and addictive behaviors.

Third Emotional Centre:

The solar Plexus or the third chakra is located at the center of the abdomen. It gains its energy from your self esteem, your self-confidence, the inner belief in your unique powers, talents and potentials. It is the center that drives you to act, to go out and make a difference in the world, and to find your unique way of contribution.
When out of balance, your third chakra sends you body warnings through disturbed blood sugar levels, digestive disorders, liver problems, different food cravings and addictive behaviors.

Different types of cancers are also associated with this chakra imbalance. In his book, The Healing Mind, Paul Martin denotes a third personality type beyond the well-known Type A and B personalities. Type C personality type, as denoted by Martin, are cancer prone people; and those, he says, are the ones who tend to ‘bottle up’ their emotions, live in the shadow with a repressed personality and a helplessness, hopelessness, or victimhood attitude to life. They are usually self-sacrificing, under-estimating their powers and potentials or lacking assertiveness and self esteem. On the other opposing end, some of cancer-prone individuals are the over achievers who want everything and want it now. They usually get very frustrated and accumulate rage and anger when faced with any mild deflection from their self-drawn path, especially if this perceived ‘failure’ affects their over-inflated ego.

Fourth Emotional Centre:

The fourth emotional center is our heart chakra. Its essential message is love. For it to stay healthy and energized, we need to love and spread love, compassion and peace around us, we need to live in harmony with the whole world, to forgive and let go of anger and grudges, to live with a pure heart, pure consciousness, and piety.
When out of balance, your heart chakra sends its warnings mainly through your cardiovascular and immune systems. Lung diseases and breast cancer are also associated with fourth chakra malfunctions.

Cardiovascular diseases are the number one cause of death in the USA. A part of course is largely due to bad habits like smoking, junk food, fatty diet, sedentary lifestyle… but the major risk of heart disease remains the psychological factors and behavior patterns like anger, hostility, grudge, rancor, and aggressiveness towards yourself or others.

Fifth Emotional Centre:

The fifth emotional center is located at the middle of the throat. I've seen so many young women with disturbance at this chakra level whether manifested as under or over active thyroid function. This may be the result of the repressed voice of women in many societies, a voice that is the main energizer of the fifth chakra. When healthy and balanced, this chakra allows you to find your own genuine authentic voice, align it with your life purpose and let it be heard. It allows you to communicate with your surroundings, express yourself freely and fearlessly. And, it teaches you the true meaning of surrender and of aligning your will to the Divine Will.

The link between self-expression and troat/upper respiratory tract problems is increasingly being recognized even within the conventional medical practice. Dr. Emmett Miller, one of the pioneers of Mind/Body Medicine, noticed during his long medical practice history that throat and upper respiratory tract infections were common among people who have difficulty or fear from self-expression. This link becomes very clear when facing oral examination, career determining interview, public speaking, and/or repressed opinion during arguments and conflicts. It’s as if the ability of the throat to resist infection is blocked when we are conflicted, afraid or shy about voicing our personal point of view.

Sixth Emotional Centre:

Also known as the third eye, the sixth chakra is located between your eyebrows. Its essential message is a life-essential wisdom: Perceiving hidden meaning and teachings in everyday living. It is at this energy level that we perceive the true meanings behind our trials and tribulations. It is there where we learn to be content, peaceful, and satisfied; where we learn to see beyond material gains and losses and live in the present moment.

The sixth chakra rules over the pituitary gland, the ‘maestro’ of the endocrine system. This is why any disturbance at this level affects almost all body functions.
When our sixth chakra is thrown out of order, we experience loads of associated symptoms. Common physical manifestations are stress, worries and anxiety; autoimmune disorders; immunity and reproductive system malfunctions; and metabolic disorders.

The first whispers experienced by a sixth chakra imbalance are different forms of, frequent infections, migraine, dizziness, headaches, brain fog, eye problems, and ear and hearing- related disorders.

Other physical manifestations are central nervous system malfunctions, neurological disorders, psychiatric problems, and learning difficulties. These malfunctions are mainly resulting from the inability of the person to tolerate ambiguity and her futile trial to totally control her environment and predict every step in life. She seeks to know every detail as she fails to connect the dots and is unable to see the Big Picture, heed the warnings sent her way, or learn her lessons from the endless life challenges and tests thrown at her.

Seventh Emotional Centre:

The seventh or the Crown chakra is located at the top of the head. It gains its energy from the connection with the Divine, from awe and submissiveness, faith, devotion and sincerity. When the seventh chakra is healthy, it gives you the ability to clearly see your goal and purpose in life and link every action and thought to the purpose of your creation. A healthy seventh chakra connects you with your Creator at every second in our life.

First whispers of the crown chakra are headaches, dizziness, migraine, seasonal affective disorder (SAD), fatigue, exhaustion and low energy or depression. With an out of balance crown, you lose your sense of purpose, meaning, and goal in life. You lose motivation and interest.

On a deeper level, the seventh chakra is mainly related to brain and nervous system disorders like memory loss, epilepsy, brain tumors... It is also related to system-wide disorders and fatal life threatening illnesses like autoimmune diseases and chronic physical and psychological illnesses.

Restore your energy

If we delve inside the tiniest structure of our universe, we will find that the atom is a hollow structure. It is a tiny core with even tinier electrons spinning around it in a vast void generating some form of energy or electromagnetic waves.. This void and this energy are part of us and we are part of them. This is what we are made of… Physics tell us that the world around us is far beyond the compact mass we see with our naked eyes. And, we, human beings, are far beyond the compact mass of flesh and bones that we recognize, see or test in the labs. We are swimming in vast sea of energy. Our thoughts, consciousness, dreams and ideas are energy floating all around the universe. We gain or lose energy from and to our surrounding each second of our life.

Although our physical body is the only form we can normally detect, touch, see and feel, physical ailments originate somewhere beyond this physical body and can only show their symptoms when we neglect our energy warnings for some time.

Every cell in our body carry on its surface protein receptors that are sensitive to vibrational energy fields in our environment be them light, sound, electromagnetic waves emitted from our televisions, cell phones and computers, or be them emotional or mental vibrations emitted from our own thoughts and sensations and from other people around us. Our cells can ‘see', 'hear’ and vibrate in relation to their surroundings and their health largely depends on these environmental signals. Dr. Bruce Lipton, the famous cell biologist, compares the cell membrane to a silicon chip inside an electronic device. As a skilled engineer can program the computer chip, a smart human being, which means every one of us,  has the power to program his/her own cells, he teaches.

In Natural healing practice, the first step towards healing is awareness. We need to be aware of our body whispers, listen to the hidden warnings and identify what needs to change in our life, our thinking pattern, our choices and our environment.

Your everyday choices, beliefs, and thinking patterns are the ‘program’ you are downloading into your cells, into EVERY cell of your body. Malfunctions in our physical body are primarily related to malfunctions in the energy supply we consciously or subconsciously deliver to our cells.

 It’s worth the investment

Your energy system holds the key for your physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health.
I see the body energy system as a personal investment, an investment in an open market. Unlike a bank account where you leave your money and be able to retrieve it when you please, your energy system needs continuous monitoring, regulation, and decision-making. It requires that you are continuously aware, mindful, knowledgeable and active. It requires patience, risk calculations and sacrifices. Whatever you give out to the world, will return to you somehow, someday. The more you invest in love, peace, forgiveness, values, and self-esteem…. The more you receive from the same currency with all the benefits and rewards. And vice versa, the more you invest in or focus on anger, fear, worry or intolerance… the more you deplete your system and lose your capital. And, like an active market, you cannot isolate yourself satisfied with what you have. Your survival necessitates your daily participation. Isolation leads to stagnation which slowly depletes your savings and gradually ruins your 'business'.

Many of the people are still looking for the ‘magic pill’…  "Isn't there an easier way to restore our body energy and health?" They ask me. "There is no shortcuts in healing," I always reply. You may find the healing journey tedious and over whelming. There are few people who are willing to move out of their comfort zone, delve into the depth of their own soul and actually perform major changes not only in their lifestyle but in their mode of thinking, feeling and believing as well. People are reluctant; they may seek easier but temporary paths until they are struck by a major life or health disaster that forces them to reconsider their choices.

Energy healing is a journey, a life-long journey. And, like all journeys, it has its challenges, pains, and tribulations; yet still it holds tremendous joys, learning, and wisdom. Are you willing to take this journey? Are you willing to invest in your health, happiness and wellbeing? The answer remains totally yours.

Disclaimer: It is very important to stress here on the fact that if the malfunction reaches a stage where it is manifested physically, an experienced physician should be consulted. The advices given here could in no way compensate for a proper medical intervention or treatment when required. Energy restoration process is a slow gentle yet essential journey aimed at prevention of disease, preservation of health and /or supporting any professional treatment when necessary

Why does my mind feel like a deserted ghost town?

A friend asked me a question lately:

“I used to be a very creative person" she said, "my mind would storm with 100s of ideas, pictures and stories all the time… When I read a book, watch a movie or attend a seminar, I got so inspired and generated so many ideas, things to do, blogs to write, music to compose… Where did all this go? My mind feels so empty now… why don’t I get those inspiring thoughts any longer?”

I knew exactly what she was talking about… my mind works exactly the same… a highly creative mind that doesn’t seem to rest… it keeps generating more and more and even more… that is until it just abruptly stops… suddenly, no more ideas, no more stories… totally deserted like a ghost town… empty… lonely… and, scary!

If I go back to those ‘ghost town’ moments, I can see that they appear on either one of two cases:
  • My life is going so well, I am happy, fulfilled, everything is going just fine;

Or,

  • I am facing a life-devastating challenge, illness, loss, failure, grief or pain.

What is common between those two cases is that in both the emotions are so strong that they overwhelm my whole life and take over my thinking… Positive or negative emotions alike!

When I am happy and fulfilled, life is so good I just live and flow with the days… the awareness of little things, of the very moment that we live in gets lost in the process… Sometimes happy moments make us forget our true life mission and meaning… Enjoying our happiness is a must of course… nothing is wrong with that. But letting those moments pass us by without savouring our blessings, without feeling the gratitude, inspiration, lessons and wisdoms within them is not how it was meant to be.

The same goes for challenging and stressful moments… sometimes our suffering, pain or loss are so tough that we find ourselves immersed up to our ears and we let them suck away our joys… yes, there must be joys… there sure are… in everyday life… in every moment… it could be as little as a growing dandelion in the sidewalk crack or the smile of a child or the chippering of a bird… the Divine mercy is there all around us at all time and He sends us messages of relief and blessings everyday… We just need to be aware not to miss them…

This is the reminder of the timeless verse again: “So that you do not fall into despair over what has escaped you, nor over exult over what you have been given” (57:23)

We are not asked to supress our joy or avoid pleasures, nor are we expected to never experience sadness, frustration, anger or pain.
A balanced life lays in the middle ground between heedless indulgence and meaningless suffering… Neither is meant to stay forever… Both are lessons and trials… both are here to teach us something… both are here to help us grow.

Enjoy your blessings, experience pleasures, excitement and happiness and express your emotions of sadness, fear or grief. We are human after all… All we need to remember here is AWARENESS! This is the key to a creative mind… Live fully, savor everyday and every moment, keep your Big Picture, your ‘Why?’ always in sight…

But, how? How do we restore those moments of awareness, those moments of mindfulness and inspiration?
The answer is inside you…
Slow down
Press the pause button
Breathe
& Listen…

Your heart knows the answer… it will tell you if you only LISTEN!
