If you approach it one step at a time, adopting healthy lifestyle won’t be at all difficult. Here are some tips:
Picture
• Healthy eating habits: Increase your intake of  fresh fruits and vegetables; reduce red meat and saturated fats in your diet; avoid refined sugars and grains, processed food, and empty-calorie diet (diet that delivers lots of calories but little or no nutritional benefits). Follow your appetite, i.e. eat well but don’t overdo it, excess food intake and bad food choice interfere with the flow of life energy, accumulate morbid matter in your body and lay the pathogenic soil suitable for microbial growth. Chew your food well to stimulate digestion.
• Practice breathing exercises. Proper breathing oxygenate your cells and help to maximize the benefits you get out of your food intake.
• Fast every now and then to detoxify and strengthen your body. Fasting teaches  control over physical habits and enhances  intellectual, moral and spiritual wellbeing.
• Exercise and adopt an active lifestyle. External movement causes inner massage-like effects improving circulation and dissipating nervous tension.
• Positive state of mind and optimistic attitude towards all life events are essential helping measures in everyday life. Negative thoughts, stress, anger, worry, fear and anxiety negatively affect your physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.
•  Prayer is essential for spiritual health. Strengthen your link to your Creator through regular prayers and supplications.
• Get closer to nature. Fresh air and sunlight stimulate the skin in a natural manner and increase vitality.
• Enjoy a good night sleep. Healthy sleeping habits relax your nerves and emotions,  regenerate body cells, and replenish your energy.
• Self-mastery, confidence and conscious life are essential for health. Adjust your intention, follow your life true mission and purpose, and most importantly, Listen to your heart!!!

Do you need a boost of motivation?

In a workshop I attended few months back by Sadadullah Khan, he compared life to a huge football field. Every day you have the choice of being one of the players or a mere spectator. The players are the ones taking the risks, the ones who exert the effort, sweat and fatigue; they are the ones who sometimes lose. But, the players are also the ones who gain all the experience, find the challenge, and enjoy victory and enthusiasm. The spectators, on the other hand, are just observers, they applaud for the winner but never experience victory themselves; they may avoid failure, but never learn from the experience and never transcend their souls. They just watch. With time, they grow older but never wiser.
We all need motivation to start up our days. What we fail to perceive, though, is that our motivation lays here in our own minds. Your powers are in your own hands. You just need to experience and practice them. Here are some tips:
· Start your day early. How much sleep do you need anyway? Six hours of good quality sound sleep are more than enough for a healthy adult. It may be difficult when you first try it, but with practice you will find yourself fully awake and energized.
· Start your day with Morning Adhkar. Clearly renew your intention and sincerity for the day.
· Take a daily walk preferably out doors or practice some morning stretching exercises.
· Eat a healthy breakfast. Avoid refined carbohydrates and sugars and go easy on the caffeine.
· Write a daily entry in your Journal. Journaling helps you venting out stress, explore your deeper self, understand more meanings and links in your life, and generate creative and innovative ideas.
· Practice breathing exercises and press your pause button whenever you find yourself working on autopilot. Stop, breathe and remember to be fully aware and mindful.

Have fun. Enjoy every moment of your life. Live with an attitude of gratitude. When you talk, talk about things you are looking forward to, nice events and meanings in your life, motivations and fulfillments. If you capture yourself whining or fretting about loss or misfortune, flip to another channel, challenge yourself to find a jewel among the rubbles.
· Surround yourself with sincere friends and a healthy social support system.
· Make better use of seemingly wasted time. Organize your schedule and prepare daily/weekly/monthly to do lists.
· Have your share of daily apples. Well, if you read my book ‘Healing body & Soul’, you will probably know what I mean. Apples here symbolizes the things that re-energize you, fill up your well, cheer you up and/or uplift your spirit. They may be as simple as an afternoon cup of coffee in your balcony watching the sunset, or they could be a hobby, a gathering, a new book, a day trip... choices are limitless. Make your own list and refer back to it whenever you feel out of apples. You are going to need simple daily apples and more sophisticated ones for occasional use. Write them down!!!
· Learn something new every day; be aware of what your world has to offer on daily/ even hourly basis.
· Get out of your comfort zone. Join groups and activities that are interesting. Surf the net for book clubs, workshops or NGOs in your area... that share your same interests.
· Expand your horizon by reading more books, magazine, world news... Meeting more people, exchanging experience and knowledge. Be open to new ideas, environment, opinion, you never know where inspiration/motivation will come from!!
· I rarely work on one project at a time. I have many open ended works on my desk (and PC desk top), workshops to prepare, books I am working on, studies I need to finish, art work, cooking recipes I want to experiment with, books I am reading, websites I need to check, that’s of course besides my house chores and kids’ everyday needs... This gives me no room for boredom. If I feel boredom seeping in, I experience lower energy, reduced motivation, urge for procrastination, stress, anxiety or creativity block, I simply shift to another activity or fetch some ‘apples’ that clear my mood.
Have a great day!!.

What should I start with?

This is my first blog. I thought alot about what I should start with. Finally, I decided to actually start from the start!!!
It all began 12 years ago. This is my son's age. I had to take a leave when he was born. Before his birth I was teaching at the universitry of pharmacy. I loved teaching, although I wasn't quiet satisfied with the stuff I was teaching nor with the teaching methods I had to use. I was part of the system, a big system, bigger than you and me, an established organization in which I had no choice but to follow the orders and apply the rules. I did it so blindfoldedly until it became part of my nature. I guess it was part of everybody's nature, just to follow the crowd. This leave I took, although I dreaded it at the begining, forced me to pause and think. To actually give myself a break. To reconsider my path, my values, and my intentions. What do I really want to do in my life? What do I want to achieve? What do I want to be remembered for? Tens of questions were waiting for answers and here I finally had some time to think for those answers. This was my first lesson. We all need time to slow down in this fast-paced life that refuse to slow down. We need to reflect and ponder, to meditate and eveluate, to set priorities and adjust intentions.

A second thing I learnt from that leave was that aiming for greatness does not have to contradict with your responsibilities and duties. I didn't have to compromise my dream or give up my life goals. I shouldn't feel like a victim and cry for my wasted life. Not at all. It all can fit together. whenever there is a will, there is a way. My job is to find it. when I stopped feeling victimized, when I gave up helplessness and pessimism, when I strengthened my belief in my Creator and the powers and potentials He bestowed on me, I aimed for greatness and here I am, alhamdullelah (thank God), walking steadily on my path.
